Lesley has always worked in an office environment, so in order to satisfy her creative side, has attended various evening classes. Many years ago, Lesley signed up for a beginners silversmith course (only because their was no cookery course on offer that term!). Having made, worn and received compliments on her first piece of jewellery she was hooked. This led on to a passion for seeking out unusual silver jewellery, not what you'd find in your average store on the high street. Living in Twyford in Leicestershire, Lesley then began to exhibit and sell her jewellery at the annual Twyford Group of Artists Exhibition, and each year was a sell out. So six years ago, Lesley decided to realise her dream of running a gallery offering contemporary silver jewellery, ceramics, art, greetings cards and gifts designed and/or made by people passionate about their art. So in August 2013 building work began to convert the Old Bakehouse in Twyford into a shop/gallery selling beautiful, design led 'stuff'. Dotty Gallery was born.
Why Dotty Gallery? Lesley's handmade silver usually includes dots as part of the design, at home, crockery, handbags, clothes, ornaments everything has dots - so Dotty Gallery it was.
When is Dotty Gallery open? The gallery is open Tuesday - Friday from 12 - 5.30pm, Saturday from 10 - 5.30pm and Sunday from 1 - 4pm. If these hours are not convenient for you, please contact Lesley and she will happily arrange to open at a time to suit.
