Numbers for each workshop are kept small, so booking is essential. These workshops can also be purchased as gifts.

Silver Cast Ring Workshop

With Rebecca Winder     £65

A fantastic opportunity to have a go at making own piece of jewellery using the wax carving technique. By the end of the 2.5 hour workshop, you will have a finished ring in wax that Rebecca witll take awy to cast into your chosen metal (solid silver is included in the workshop price, see below for optional extras). Three weeks later your finished ring will be ready to be shipped back to you!

Optional extras:

Working on a bright base, you'll use Sgraffito (scratching technique) to create an 18cm square hanging design which looks simply stunning in silhouette. Worried about your drawing ability? You don't need to have drawing skills as you can use tracing paper to assist you. This 2 hour session costs £30 to include all materials.

Taking inspiration from The Wire Lady's colourful wirework samples and using a wide collection of beads and coloured electrical wire you will be shown how to manipulate this versatile material to so that you can easily achieve a small woven wire bowl. Simple to make and fun to do! 

All materials will be provided but if you have any beads, trinkets or found fragments that have special significance, bring them along to make your piece personal. Running 10 - 1pm this workshops costs £35 to include all materials.

With Sue Clews (The Wire Lady)  Cost £30

You can almost smell the purple fragrance of these floral lavender stems!  The Wire Lady, Sue, will show you how wire, beads and a little patience will reward you with a flower that lasts for ever. Gorgeous blues and lavender colours to choose from.  The workshop runs 1.30 -3.30pm and costs £30 to include tuition, all materials, refreshments and cake.

Come along and learn the art of creaing pictures from carded merino wool, silks, yarns and other fibres. The finished piece will be a work of art ready for you take home and frame later. Source materials and equipment are all provided, along with refreshments throughout the day. The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm and costs £50

Starting and Progressing in Watercolour (full day plus three follow-up sessions)

Watercolour Workshop with Ken Forrest

With Ken Forrest      £45 (plus three half day sessions at £30 each)

The plan for this full day session (10 - 4pm) with local artist Ken Forrest will take the following form:

The group will meet and discuss experience (if any) and expectations followed by a demonstration painting by Ken with Q&A during 'drying times'. There will then be an exercise in monochrome, following on with 'playing with three colours'.
