Picassiette Mosaic Day

Meaning stolen place or scrounger, picassiette is the technique of using broken china to make mosiac patters. It is also known as memoryware, so if you have any china with sentimental connections, it can be worked into your design.

Free Machine Embroidery

Free Machine Embroidery Sample

With Linda Harding     Cost £35

You will learn the addictive art of free machine embroidery at this experimental workshop. Layer a wide selection of recycled fabric scraps, sari borders, yarns and silks and free machine through the layers to create a stunning and colourful textile art quilt. You can bring along your own machine or there are machine's here to use or share. 

The cost is £35 and is limited to six people.

Indian Embroidery - From Print to Stitch

Block Printing with Free Machine Embroidery

Print your own beautiful fabric samples to embelish and stitch. Choose from a huge selection of hand-carved Indian print blocks to print onto white cotton or bright sari silks using colourful fabric paints. Dry and fix by ironing. You then have the choice!  You can learn traditional Indian embroidery stitches such as kantha and discover how to sew shisha mirrors to emblish your prints or use one of the sewing machines and free machine embroider to finish your piece. The workshop runs 2 - 5pm and costs £35

Enjoy this wonderful technique at Dotty Gallery. Working on a bright base, you'll use Sgraffito (scratching technique) to create an 18cm square hanging design which looks simply stunning in silhouette. Worried about your drawing ability? You don't need to have drawing skills as you can use tracing paper to assist you. This 2 hour session costs £30 to include all materials.

Silver Clay Pendant

Come and learn how to make your own fine silver pendant from Metal Clay.

We will show you how to design and make your own pendant from this magical material. Once made, we will fire your pendant to turn the clay form into pure silver. We will then show you how to finish and polish your beautiful and unique pendant ready to wear home.

The course runs 10 - 1pm and costs £50 which includes all tuition and materials, including 7 grams of silver clay.

This course is suitable for everyone from 16yrs upwards.

Set in a sturdy handmade wrought iron frame with 4 pronged stake, your three panels of unique glass will enhance any garden. The price includes the stake, tuition and all materials. The dimensions of the stake is approximately 19cm x 95cm

Torn Paper Collage - Wildlife

You will create a still life composition 45cm square image using ripped paper. Danielle will guide you through how to create your colourful flower collage, giving tips and demonstrations in this fun workshop. Composition, creating depth and using text and pattern will be aspects that are covered. Varnishing and framing options will be discussed. You will take home a finished collage at the end of the day!  If flowers aren't your thing, you're free to choose another topic for inspiration.

Wire Wrap Rings

Wire Wrap Rings

In this 2 1/2 hour workshop you will learn teh wire wrapping technique and make two rings, one in copper and one sterling silver. There's no soldering involved and this session is suitable forthose with little or no experience.

There will be a variety of semi precious stones to choose from.

The workshop will run 1 - 2.30 (ish) and costs £35 to include tution and all materials.
