Getting the most from your smartphone camera

Aninformal workshop which will explore how to get the very best from your smartphone camera. We'll begin by looking at the basic principles of photography and composition, then dive a little deeper into the settings fo teh camera app itself, explaining terms such as HDR, 4:3/16:9, Raw and JPEG as we go.

There'll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and take pictures, and we'll also look at some extra apps for tweaking your photos. Make sure you bring your smartphone, fully charged and with plenty of free space!

Upcycled Vintage Paper Workshop

With Cherry Abrams    £35

Using a wealth of upcycled vintage ephemera, including books, magazines, comics, cigarette cards, maps, games and illustrations you will create your own unique pieces. You can embellish your work with buttons, washi tape and rubber stamps.

Have fun making bunting, envelopes, seed packets, labels, boxes, flowers and greeting cards. Perfect gifts ... if you can bring yourself to give them away!

All materials and equipment supplied. This three hour workshop runs 1 - 4pm and costs £35

Torn Paper Collage - Spring Flora and Fauna Theme

With Danielle Vaughan    £45

You will create a still life composition 45cm square image using ripped paper. Danielle will guide you through how to create your colourful flower collage, giving tips and demonstrations in this fun workshop. Composition, creating depth and using text and pattern will be aspects that are covered. Varnishing and framing options will be discussed. You will take home a finished collage at the end of the day!  If spring flowers aren't your thing, you're free to choose another topic for inspiration.

The workshop runs 10 - 3pm and costs £45

Join Ali from smARTsy to create a unique fused glass piece to be proud of.

With plenty of glass forms and colours to choose from, you're guaranteed to produce a beautiful work of art measuring 10cm x 25cm to be displayed in a handmade Scottish hardwood block.

The session runs 1 - 3pm and costs £35 to include all materials.

Living Art Classes - Terrariums and Bottle Gardens

Living art classes are an exciting and creative way to learn a new craft. In this first class, we will explore the use of house plants to make terrariums and bottle gardens. 

Terraria are decorative glass containers which are usually sealed to create a unique environment for plant growth., although they can also be left open to the atmosphere. In this class you'll create your own terrarium, learn about the most suitable plants and how to care for them.

The class will begin at 11am and costs £55 to include all materials.

Needle Felted Birds

A workshop suitable for beginners and improvres. Learn the art of three dimensional needle felting.

You will learn the various techniques you will need to create a garden bird with wire legs, which we will make together step by step.

You may choose from a selection of small bird breeds on the day. Options include: Robin, blue tit, bullfinch, goldfinch, chaffinch, sparrow and wren.
