I am a Mixed Media artist, creating abstract paintings filled with shape, texture and colour. My work began as I started collecting old scraps of paper, fabrics and wrappers, before recycling them to create interesting textures in my artwork. In every painting I create I wants to give these scraps a new life, as part of a beautiful creation. I works from home in rural Leicestershire, where I love to experiment and create something brand new and exciting each day!
These paintings are part of me, and my outlook into the outside world. I have battled with balance problem for much of my adult life, which affects my freedom and makes even the smallest of tasks a real struggle. Painting is one of my escapes; it’s my way of exploring the colour, texture and patters of the world, but from my small studio. It creates a way for me to be experimental and daring from the safety of my own home. My paintings are about my life and my dreams – I want to create something new and exciting for the world to see out of the broken and worn out ingredients that are put in.
